Dr. Danielle Groenen


Dr. Danielle Groenen is a Senior Research Scientist at NextGen Federal Systems working as the Technical Lead of the Machine Learning Data Engineering team. She works on modeling aviation weather impacts as well as State-of-the-Art Machine Learning numerical weather models. Her past work includes managing teams, data, metadata, and technical documents with NASA Earthdata at NASA IMPACT/NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and NASA’s ASDC DAAC at the NASA Langley Research Center. In 2019, she graduated from Florida State University with a Ph.D. in Meteorology. Her Ph.D. dissertation was related to diagnosing Central American rainfall patterns and determining the dynamics involved in triggering the onset and demise of the rainy season. Prior to her Ph.D., Danielle was a high school physics teacher in Tampa, Florida.
