Hello! My name is Danielle Groenen and I’m a Senior Research Scientist with Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI), located in in Hampton, Virginia. In 2019, I graduated with my Ph.D. in Meteorology from Florida State University. My PhD dissertation was related to diagnosing Central American rainfall patterns and determining the dynamics involved in triggering the onset and demise of the rainy season. I’m passionate about climate change, and learned more about the links between climate change and its health impacts in an online course given by the Yale School of Public Health. I have extensive experience in outreach and education, as well as research experience at three universities and two prominent science organizations.
